Inspired by Gabriel Orozco's Yielding Stone, the artist sort out to collect the textures of Berlin through the surrealist technique of Frottage (rubbings), using a graphite stick. Whilst in Berlin, the artist came across a decorative drain cover that was great for frottaging.

The work is a mix of Plymouth and Berlin drains created from plaster and then painted to look like metal. It is a participatory piece of work as the audience can create rubbings from my drain, using the graphite stick, to recreate the moment in Berlin that I found the drain.
