A Nice Clean Death is a performative work exploring the symbolism of bubbles within 17th Century Vanitas still life paintings and looking into end of life rituals. In the performance, the artists ‘washes’ an urn made out of soap in the sea. This is a reflection of the artists interest in Water Cremation – a process where the remains are a soapy substance – and a nod to the artists recent experience with death.
